Donegal has been crowned the best county in Ireland in the iRadio county competition!

The Athlone-based station has been running a competition for the last few weeks, whittling down the list of 32 counties to choose a winner.

In the end, it came down to just Donegal and Galway, with reasons being given for both sides. Presenter Dave Duke, originally from Leitrim, fought hard to give the win to Donegal. He highlighted the Four Lanterns fast food chain and the Donegal International Rally as well as famous figures Daniel O’Donnell, Michael Murphy and Jim McGuinness.

Eventually it came down to a tiebreak game of rock, paper, scissors which saw Dave and Donegal take the win!
