Openwater swim, sauna and storytelling will be the order of the day at Carrickfinn

'Openwater swimming through the platform of stories has the ability to unite across religious and cultural backgrounds and the Peaceplus programme is a real catalyst for greater inclusivity of many otherwise marginalised'
A Peaceplus openwater swim, sauna and storytelling will take place at the Boatstrand Carrickfinn tomorrow, January 18.
Event organisers have said: "Meeting first for tea and scones at 10.30am at the Mullachdubh Community Centre - Seanscoil. F94D328, where our neighbour Mabel Boyd will tell us about how the Church of Ireland community came to be in Carrickfinn and the strong link with the boatstrand.
"Others from the Tyrone Dippers and Seacoast Dippers in Derry will tell individual and group stories as to how they were attracted to the sea and the benefits physically, emotionally, socially and in many other ways.
"Colette Fleming from County Down is doing a PhD on the benefits of open water swimming with a Welsh University and has heard so much of this Peaceplus programme through Donegal County Council and Customer Service Excellence Ireland that she will talk about her findings to date and the future focus of the research.
"Openwater swimming through the platform of stories has the ability to unite across religious and cultural backgrounds and the Peaceplus programme is a real catalyst for greater inclusivity of many otherwise marginalised. Join in as a participant or observer in Mullaghduff and the Boatstrand. Lunch is provided after the swim but do indicate attendance by DM to coordinator Sally Rodgers."
