SLIDESHOW: Matchmaking still alive and well in Ardara

Matchmaking is one of Ireland’s oldest traditions and for the last fifteen years a great deal of it has taken place in Ardara.
Stephen McCahill of the Ardara Matchmaking festival told the diary, “A lot of people might laugh at the whole concept, but it is a tradition that is still very much alive.
There have been quite a few successful outcomes here in Ardara but in reality the festival today is all about a great weekend of music and craic in a truly great atmosphere.
Stephen added, “The festival has been a great success once again. 
“To be honest Ardara has had a really great year and is really beginning to reap the benefits of the Wild Atlantic Way. I have an ambition now to develop walking holidays on the same lines as the “Camino” - I think it could be a massive success.”
