Eric Roberts emerged as one of the standout performers on Dancing with the Stars on Sunday night.

The Ireland AM presenter from Glen delivered a polished Viennese Waltz during the show’s Country Week that earned him strong praise from the judges and a combined score of 31 points.

Dancing alongside professional partner Arianna Favaro, Roberts took to the floor to Chris Stapleton’s rendition of the classic ballad Tennessee Whiskey, producing one of the highest-scoring routines of the evening and firmly positioning himself as a strong contender in the competition.

The night culminated in the elimination of podcast host Amber Wilson, who became the third celebrity to exit the series after receiving the lowest combined judges’ scores and public votes.

Wilson and her professional partner, Alex Vladimirov, performed an American Smooth to Chappell Roan’s The Giver, scoring 19 points. Speaking after her exit, Wilson said she was disappointed to leave the competition but praised Vladimirov for his support throughout their journey.

Elsewhere, The Apprentice UK star Jordan Dargan topped the judges’ scores with 34 points for his Paso Doble with Rebecca Scott, while singer-songwriter Tolü Makay and Olympic rower Philip Doyle both impressed with 33 points apiece. Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh received the lowest judges’ score of the night with 16 points for her Cha-cha-cha, but avoided elimination.

The show concluded with a lively professional dance to 5, 6, 7, 8 by Steps. Dancing with the Stars returns next Sunday, 1 February, with Dedicated Dance Week, airing from 6.30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
