Andy Lee with Jason Quigley
Former world champion Andy Lee will be among a star-studded cast in town this weekend as the County Donegal Boxing Board celebrates its 75th anniversary.
The annual awards night will take place on Saturday in Jackson’s Hotel in Ballybofey and Lee tops the bill.
Lee, who was 35-3-1 as a pro, won the WBO world middleweight title in December 2014 when he stopped Matyev Koroborov in the sixth round of their bout in Las Vegas.
He is now one of the world’s leading trainers and cornered the latter phase of Jason Quigley’s professional journey. Quigley also fought for the WBO world middleweight strap in 2021, losing out to Demetrius Andrade.

Lee’s stable now includes Joseph Parker, Paddy Donovan, Jim Donovan, Ben Whittaker and Hamzah Sheeraz.
