Shaun Doohan being announced as the winner in an Irish final last year
Sparks will fly at the Ozanam Centre in Dunfanaghy on Saturday evening as a star-studded boxing contest takes place.
The Dunfanaghy Boxing Club are hosting a Dublin Select with 16 bouts down for decision.
Dunfanaghy’s recently-crowned National U17 80kgs champion Shaun Doohan takes to the stage against A McCabe. Doohan overcame Martin Collins to win the second Irish title of his career having won the Boy 4 70kgs crown in 2024.
Conor Durning, the 2023 National Youth 2 57kgs winner, will face M McDonagh on Saturday night in another eagerly-awaited fight.
It has been a breakout year for Carys McFadden and the Dunfanaghy BC puncher will go through the ropes at her home show to face R Kinsella. McFadden won the Junior 1 46kgs title earlier in the year when she stopped Olivia Wardzinska from St Brigid’s, Edenderry in the second round of their final. That win saw her become the first female boxer from Dunfanaghy BC to win an Irish title and she won silver at the World of Havoc Tournament in the United States later in 2025.
Eddie McBride, who contested an Irish Junior Cadet final in 2024, also features against C O’Brien.
The first bell is at 8pm in the Ozanam Centre.
