Ballyshannon Gardaí seized a car this morning with false/altered douments and bald tyres
Ballyshannon Gardaí seized a car earlier this morning at one of their checkpoints.
All tyres on the car were bald. The NCT, Insurance and tax discs on display were suspected to be false/altered. The driver and two passengers were not wearing their seatbelts. Fixed Charge Penalty Notices will issue and Court proceedings will also follow.
"Check your tyres regularly," An Garda Siochana warned. "It is recommended that you change your tyres when the tread depth falls below 3mm. The legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm."
Buncrana Roads Policing Unit arrested a driver outside Letterkenny last night on suspicion of drug driving after they had tested positive for cocaine. Gardaí said: "Do not drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs! Wear your seatbelt!"
An Garda Síochána on Thursday evening launched a Road Education and Safety Project, Operation Nexus.
