Appeal after woman has phone snatched by cyclist in Kilmacrennan park

A mobile phone was snatched from a woman walking in a park in Kilmacrennan last week.

The woman was walking in he Community Development Park at Ballykeeran, Kilmacrennan at around 2pm on Thursday, November 7, when the incident occurred.

A male, believed to be aged in his late teens or early twenties, cycled past the woman. As he did so, he snatched her phone from her hand before cycling onwards in the direction of the woods following the incident.

The phone in question is a black Samsung Galaxy S22.

Garda Sergeant Eunan Walsh said: “We appeal to anybody who may have observed the incident or observed this male on a bike in the area to make contact with Gardaí in Milford on 074-9153060.

“If anybody was in the general area with a dash-cam between 1.30pm and 2.30pm, we ask them to make the footage available to Gardaí. Should anybody come across a similar mobile phone for sale on a second hand basis, we ask them to alert Gardaí also.”
