House and car targeted by vandals in Buncrana, car keyed in Ballybofey

Gardai have launched an investigation into both matters, which occurred over the festive period, with the public asked to provide any information possible

A number of windows of a house in Buncrana were smashed

A property in Buncrana was targeted by vandals, who broke windows of a house and a vehicle, while a car parked at a house in Ballybofey was keyed over the Christmas period.

Gardai have launched an investigation into both matters.

In Buncrana, the incident is said to have occurred at around 11.30pm on Friday, January 3 in the Burwood area.

A number of windows of a house in that area were smashed and windows of a vehicle parked at the address were also smashed. 

A Garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anybody who may have been in the area with a dash cam between 11pm and Midnight to make the footage available to Gardaí. 

“If anybody observed the incident or if they have any relevant information, we ask them to make contact with Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540. The Garda Confidential line may be reached on 1800 666 111.

Meanwhile, between 4pm on Thursday, December 26 and 11.30am on Saturday, December 28 at Coill an Airgid, Ballybofey, a car which was parked at a house in that area was targeted.

Damage was caused to the vehicle and Gardai say that is appears to have been keyed along the passenger side.

A spokesperson said: “If anybody can assist this investigation with relevant information, we ask them to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074-9167100 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.”
