Gardaí seek witnesses after Stranorlar hit-and-run

Gardaí are on the lookout for the driver of a “dark-coloured car” following a hit-and-run in Stranorlar.

The road traffic collision occurred in Stranorlar on Thursday, of January 23, at approximately 8.15am. The driver of a white Ford Transit was travelling on the N13 (Letterkenny Road) in Stranorlar towards Letterkenny when a dark-coloured car - possibly a Ford Focus - struck the side of his van as they exited from a side road onto the N13, across from the old Nena Models Factory.

The driver of said car then travelled onwards towards McClay’s corner in Stranorlar. They did not stop or return to the scene. The driver of the van was not hurt.

“We appeal to other road users who were on that busy stretch of road to get in touch with us if they had a dash cam or if they witnessed the collision,” a garda spokesperson said. “We also appeal to the driver of the car in question to get in touch with Gardaí as CCTV is being viewed from the area in an attempt to identify them. Gardaí in Letterkenny may be contacted on 074-9167100 in relation to the incident.”
