A man wanted in connection with the death of a Strabane man could be holed up in Donegal, detectives believe.
Gardai have been liaising with colleagues from the PSNI.
A murder investigation has been launched by detectives from the PSNI’s major investigation team after the death of Stephen Holmes.
The 31-year-old was seriously assaulted in the Beechmount Village area of Strabane at approximately 3.15am on Monday, February 3.
Mr Holmes, who was left for dead, passed away at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast as a result of injuries sustained in the brutal attack.
Mr Holmes, who was from the Strabane area, was in a critical condition in the days after the attack. He was in the critical care intensive care unit of the Belfast hospital.
"Charges concerning a 31-year-old man who appeared before Strabane Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 6th February in connection with the investigation, will now be reviewed by officers,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
Dylan McCrossan, 31, of Beechmount Village, Strabane, is charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, as well as having cocaine and the Class C drug Pregabalin.
McCrossan was remanded in custody when he appeared before the court.
Detectives on both sides of the border are believed to be looking to speak to another man in relation to the incident.
Donegal Live understands that the second man may have fled across the border into Donegal.
