The ESB substation in Lurgybrack has been targeted yet again

The ESB substation in Lurgybrack, Letterkenny has been targeted yet again - this time a theft.

The latest incident occurred between 6pm on Wednesday, August 6 and 4pm on Thursday, August 7. 

Entry was gained to the yard between those times and a quantity of copper pipes and copper cable was stolen from within. No damage was caused to any property.

“We appeal to anyone who may have observed any type of suspicious activity or vehicles in that area between those times to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100,” said Garda Niall Maguire. “The Garda Confidential Line may be reached on 1800 666 111.

“This is one of a recent spate of incidents at ESB substations within the county and we ask everyone to be vigilant and always to report suspicious activity in those areas immediately.”
