Student hospitalised after alleged assault by another student in Ballyshannon

The incident occurred during the school lunchbreak when it is alleged that a male student was approached from behind and assaulted a number of times by another male student

A student has been hospitalised after an alleged assault by another student in Ballyshannon.

Gardaí are investigating the incident that occurred in the Market Yard area of the town on Friday, October 10 at around 1.30pm. 

The incident occurred during the school lunch break when it is alleged that a male student was approached from behind and assaulted a number of times by another male student.

The injured male attended Sligo University Hospital to receive medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with Ballyshannon Garda station on  071-9858530. 

Anyone who may have travelled in that area with a dash-cam around that time, is asked to make the footage available to gardaí.
