St Columba’s started participating in the AILO competition in January 2017. After the Preliminary Round in January of each year, the top 100 students across all 32 counties are invited to participate in the National Final, which takes place in March each year in DCU, Dublin. St Columba’s has had at least one student (and up to three) in each AILO National Final since 2019. For the past couple of years, St Columba’s has been flying the flag for the north-west, as the only school representing Donegal in the AILO National Final. St Columba’s conducts four to five AILO workshops after school from October to March. They are fun events as well as being a great workout for the brain cells! AILO workshops are open to all students and staff.
