A Letterkenny man has admitted to his part in a robbery as well as dealing cocaine.

David Orr appeared before Letterkenny Circuit Court in relation to the incidents.

A 21-year-old, with an address at Ard Lonan, Long Lane, Letterkenny, Orr is charged with a count of robbery, relating to an incident at Chicking, O’Boyce’s Corner, Ramelton Road, Letterkenny, on February 18, 2025.

He is charged that he did rob a man of cash in the sum of €300. The charge is contrary to section 14 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001.

Orr is also charged with being in a possession of a controlled drug, namely cocaine, for the purpose of selling or otherwise supplying it to another at Larkins Lane, Letterkenny, on October 18, 2021.

Orr, who is in custody at Castlerea Prison, was brought to court by prison officers.

He spoke only to plead guilty when he was formally arraigned before Judge John Aylmer.

Ms Fiona Crawford BL, barrister for the State, said the guilty pleas would meet the DPP’s case on a full facts basis.

Mr Ivan Toner BL, said the accused man has “significant serious addiction issues that he has dealt with”.

Mr Toner asked for the preparation of a probation and welfare report.

Judge Aylmer requested the report, to include an assessment as to Orr’s suitability for community service.

Orr was remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to February.
