Conviction for Derry man caught driving at 140km/h on busy Donegal road

A Derry man clocked driving at 140km/h on a busy Donegal road has been convicted in court.

Paul Whitlock was detected driving at 140km/h on the N13 road at Killyverry, Newtowncunningham on April 5, 2024 at 10.25pm.

The case of Whitlock, a 46-year-old of Pine Street, Derry, was before Letterkenny District Court.

Garda Thomas Duggan gave evidence of making the detection on the day in question. Garda Duggan said that a fixed charge penalty notice (FCPN) was issued, but remained unpaid.

Whitlock, who has no previous convictions, was convicted and fined €450 by Judge Emile Daly and given four months to pay.
