Gardaí arrested 12 drivers in Donegal for driving under the influence
A total of 12 drivers across Donegal were arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Five of the arrests were for drink driving while seven were for drug driving.
Gardaí carried out an enhanced Road Safety and Traffic Enforcement campaign over the St Brigid’s Bank Holiday weekend.
A number of vehicles were seized over the course of the weekend across Donegal for no insurance, no NCT, no Tax and no driving licence. A number of drivers were arrested over the course of the weekend for dangerous driving offences.

“We continue to urge drivers to behave in a responsible manner,” said Garda Gráinne Doherty. “Slow down. Do not drive while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. Do not hold or use a mobile phone while driving. Wear a seatbelt.”
