A Donegal man is to stand trial charged on 20 sex assault charges, relating to alleged incidents over a five-year period
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Letterkenny District Court.
He is charged with a total of 20 section 2 sexual assaults dated between December, 2011 and December, 2016.
Garda Sergeant Jim Collins told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had consented for the accused to stand trial at the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court.
He also said that the accused could go forward on a signed plea.
Solicitor for the accused man, Mr Frank Dorrian, asked the court for the case to be adjourned to get counsel's opinion on the matter.
Judge Ciaran Liddy adjourned the case until April 27, 2026.
