Philip Gillespie, Roscommon and Buncrana

The death has occurred peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, of Philip Gillespie, The Demesne, Frenchpark, County Roscommon and formerly of Buncrana. 

Recently predeceased by his eldest son Declan, he is deeply mourned by his heartbroken wife Anne, son Shane and daughters Emma and Janine. Beloved grandfather to Connor, Ethan, Donnacha, Emily and Eleanor and father-in-law to Emma and Steven; cherished brother of Frank, Eileen, John, Dinny, Mary, Annie and Kevin and the late Roseanne, Bridget, William and Patsy. He is sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Philip will lie in repose in The Gibbons Funeral Home, Ballinagare on Saturday from 6pm until evening prayer at 8pm. House private please.

Funeral will arrive to the Sacred Heart Church, Ballinagare, Sunday for Mass of the Resurrection at 1pm with burial afterwards in Drummin Cemetery. Philip’s Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on The Gibbons Funeral Home Facebook page

Charlie Harkin, London, Glenties and Killybegs

The death has occurred of Charlie Harkin, New Eltham, London and formerly of Glenties and Killybegs. 

He is predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Nan Harkin.

Charlie's remains will repose at Shovlin's Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara, on Friday from 4.30pm with removal at 6pm to St Connell's Church, Glenties, for 6.30pm. 

Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 11am, followed by committal in the family plot in Killybegs Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on www.churchservices.tv/glenties

Annie Teresa Rooney, Convoy

The peaceful death has taken place at her home of Annie Teresa Rooney, Killynure, Convoy.

Predeceased by her loving husband Paddy and grandson Patrick, Annie will be deeply missed and remembered, with much love by her son Patrick and wife Rosie, son James and wife Alison, grandchildren Michael, Charlena and Roisin and great-grandchildren Finn, Jackson, Lily, Bethany and Lorcan, her loving sister Kathleen Mc Glynn, neighbours, friends and wider family circle.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence on Thursday from 6pm. Family time from 10pm to 10am, with Rosary each evening at 9pm. Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral leaving her home on Saturday at 1.30pm for Funeral Mass at 2pm in St Mary’s Church, Convoy with interment afterwards in the family plot in The Old Cemetery, Convoy. 

Maggie Kelly, Stranorlar and Castlefin

The death has occurred, at Letterkenny University Hospital, of Margaret (Maggie) Kelly, (née Mc Closkey) Upper Tivockmoy, Stranorlar, F93 RT98 and formerly Blairstown, Castlefin.

Beloved wife of Patsy and much loved mother of Susie, Noel, Bernie, Margo, John, Brid, Barry, Michelle, Jeanette, and Barbara, cherished sister of Michael and the late Neil, Charlie, Annie, John, Hughie and Mary. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughters, brother, sons in law, daughters in law, brothers and sisters in law, 30 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence on Thursday from 4pm with Rosary each night at 9pm. Family time from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral. One way system in operation - enter L7084 at Tyrcallan on Main N13, Stranorlar, to Kilross Road and exit via Lettermakenny

Funeral leaving from there on Saturday at 1.15pm for Requiem Mass at 2pm in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar with interment afterwards in Drumboe Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Webcam at https://www.churchservices.tv/stranorlar

Kathleen Keeney, Glencolmcille

The death has occurred peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital of Kathleen Keeney, (née Friel), Cashel, Glencolmille and formerly of Fanaghan, Inver.

Predeceased by her son Tommy; beloved wife to Thomas, much loved mother to Valerie, Patricia (Anthony), Charlotte (Martin), Cathal (Clare), Helen (Thomas) and Michael. Sadly missed by all her grandchildren, her sisters Bríd and Winnie and brothers Anthony, Connie, John and Pat, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law. 

Her remains are reposing at Shovlin's Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara, (F94 N923) on Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm. They will repose at her late residence at Cashel, Glencolmcille on Friday and Saturday from 11am to 10pm. 

Funeral Mass on Sunday afternoon at 1pm at St Columba's Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamlined at www.mcnmedia.tv/Camera/st-columbas-glencolmcille

Anna Rita McLaughlin , Carndonagh

The death has occurred of Anna Rita McLaughlin (née McEleney) at her home in Ballyloskey, Carndonagh.

Predeceased by her husband Packie loving mother to Keith, Fiona, Mairead, Catherine, Nuala, Niall, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, her sister Rosin, nieces, nephews and extended family and her many friends.

Anna Rita will be waked at her home on Thursday until 10pm.

Requiem Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Carndonagh on Friday at 1pm followed by cremation on Saturday at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 1pm. Mass can be viewed on church media tv https://churchmedia.tv/parish-of-carndonagh-donegal

William Burke, Glasgow and Newtowncunningham

The death has occurred in Castle Milk, Glasgow of William Burke, formerly Monfad, Newtowncunningham.

Willliam was the son of the late George and Mary Burke. Deeply missed by his brother and sisters Eamon, Marian Tourish and Breege Healy, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Prayers will be offered on Saturday at 6.30pm Mass in All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham. Mass can be viewed on www.newtownkilleaparish.com

Funeral will take place in Glasgow on Tuesday at 10am with cremation afterwards.

Angela Kelly, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has occurred, at Letterkenny University Hospital, of Angela Kelly, Coolboy, Letterkenny.

Predeceased by her husband Anthony, daughter Kathleen and brother Vincent (Dublin). Deeply regretted by her daughters Antoinette and Roisin, sons-in-law Paul Ryan and Eugene Logue, grandchildren Ryan, Eoghan, Erin, Caitlin and Saoirse, her brother Breen Hughes.

Her remains are reposing at her home.

Requiem Mass in St Columba's Church, Kilmacrennan, at 11am on Friday, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Bridget Ellis, Glencolmcille

The death has occurred of Bridget Ellis (née Carr), Bangort, Glencolmcille.

Predeceased by her husband Dinny Ellis and son Martin. Loving mother of William, Denis, John Joe, James and daughter Anne Bernadette Whyte, Son in Law, Daughters in Law, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Sisters Vera Conaghan and Catherine McGonigle, Nieces and Nephews and Extended Family.

Wake in her daughter Anne Whyte's residence in Loughros Point, Ardara, F94 P2V5 continues on Thursday until 10pm.

Funeral from there on Friday, via Glengesh, Strafin, Straboy, Sieve, Bangort to arrive at St Columba's Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille for 1pm Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamlined by: https://www.mcnmedia.tv/Camera/st-columbas-glencolmcille

Eddie Callaghan, Ballybofey

The death has occurred peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving familyof Edward (Eddie) Callaghan, Kinletter, Ballybofey.

Beloved husband of Celia and much loved father to Julia Anna (Byrne) Imelda (Ryan) Edwina (Gilbert) cherished brother of Patsy, Bertie and the late Johnny. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his wife, daughters, sons in law, grandchildren, Patrick, Sean, Una, Molly, Joseph, Ciarán, and Evelyn, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The House is Strictly Private to the family only please.

Funeral leaving from his late residence on Friday at 10.20am for Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill at 11am with interment in the adjoining Churchyard. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish youtube at https://youtube.com/@killygordonparish

William John McLaughlin, Burnfoot

The death has occurred at Buncrana Community Hospital of William John McLaughlin, Drumadooey, Burnfoot.

Predeceased by his parent Celia and Danny, he is deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by his brothers Gerald, Patrick and Seamus, his sister Mary Rose Breslin, his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

His remains are reposing at Murphy's Funeral Home on Thursday from 4pm to 5.30pm followed by removal to St Mura's Church, Fahan arriving at 6pm to repose overnight.

Requiem Mass on Friday at 12 noon followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Requiem Mass can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/fahan

Ella Doherty, Carndonagh

The death occurred at her home of Ella Doherty (Urris) late of Tiernaleague, Carndonagh F93VAP5 surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband, Tony and son, Paddy, a much-loved mother of Marjorie, Myles, Anthony, Kevin and Cathal and dearly loved grandmother and great-grandmother.

Her remains are reposing at her home.

Removal from there on Friday at 10.30am to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Carndonagh for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Ned Boyce, Downings

The death has taken place of Edward (Ned) Boyce formerly of Pier Road, Downings.

Edward left Donegal in the 1940s and worked on the Hydro Dams in Scotland, Australia and the UK. He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren and all his family and friends in Ireland and the UK.

The funeral will take place at St Sebastian and St Pancras Church, Diocese of Westminster, London in the coming weeks.
