Johnny McGroddy is the top scorer in the Donegal SFC after three rounds of fixtures.
The new rules have certainly added a lot to the game and with two pointers introduced, spectators in Donegal are being treated to high scoring matches, with an average of just over 34 points being scored per game.
The stats, compiled by Edward Molloy, has Downings man McGroddy leading the way with a total of 1-21, including a superb 1-8 in Towney as his side defeated Kilcar.
McGroddy also posted six points against Naomh Conaill and seven against Dungloe in defeats.
CJ Molloy of Ardara is next in the list thanks to his goal scoring abilities.
The full forward has hit 4-10 so far, including two goals in their win over Aodh Ruadh, while his 1-6 against neighbours Naomh Conaill wasn’t enough as they were just edged out.
He also hit a consolation goal against MacCumhaills in their last match at Pearse Memorial Park.
Naomh Conaill’s Eoghan McGettigan (1-18) is just ahead of Conor O’Donnell Jnr of St Eunan’s (1-17), while Oisin Gallen (1-16) and Ethan Harkin (0-19) make up the top five, Gallen impressively in the top five despite only playing two matches so far after missing their opening game against St Michael’s.
His tally of 1-10 against Ardara is the most scored in one game by a player so far, with fellow county star Michael Langan next in that category as he posted 11 points against Glenfin on his return to club duties.
And that pair have helped their teams to high scores, with Sean MacCumhaills leading the way with 4-55 over their three games, while St Michael’s are second in the list with 2-54.
