Hugh Donaghey, Ballymagan

The death has taken place in Buncrana Community Hospital of Hugh Donaghey, Cleenagh, Ballymagan.

Son of the late Sarah and John Donaghey (Black), dear brother of Henry, Owen, Breedge, Mary, Gertie, Angel and the late Tessie, Sean, and Seamus.

Remains reposing at McLaughlin’s funeral from 3pm to 6 pm on Thursday,  November 17.

Funeral from there on Friday at 10.15am going to St Mary’s church Cockhill for 11am requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Brian O’ Donnell Junior, Stranorlar, and Admiran


The death has occurred in Letterkenny University Hospital of Brian O’ Donnell Junior, late of 5 Riverside, Ard Na Greine, Stranorlar,F93 Y4C1, and Admiran.

Much loved and very special son of Brian and Ann. Sadly missed by his brothers Fergus, and Rory, his sister Aileen, sisters-in-law Chris and Siobhan, and all his uncles and aunts, nieces, and nephews.

Deeply regretted by all his friends and the wonderful staff of Ard Na Greine, who gave him such loving and dedicated care over the years.

Remains reposing at 5 Ard Na Greine on Thursday, November 17 with visiting time from 5pm until rosary at 7pm.

Funeral leaving from there on Friday, November 18 at 10.30am for requiem Mass at 11am in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar with Cremation afterwards at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 3pm.

The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Webcam at https://www.churchservices.tv/stranorlar

Family flowers only please. The house is private at Admiran.

Louis Bradley, Letterkenny

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 of Louis Bradley, Listillion, Letterkenny F92 F61R.

Pre-deceased by brothers Laurence, Fr. Joe, Patsy, Liam and Jimmy and sisters Maureen Browne and Veronica Meehan. Deeply missed by his loving wife Noreen, daughters Louise, Eimear and Niamh, son Joe, sons-in-law Tom Kirby and Dermot Bannon, daughter-in-law Martina, grandchildren Sophie, David, Meabh and Flynn, sisters Angela Toner (College Farm Road, Letterkenny), Ita Rattigan (Mullingar) and Bridie Gildea (Magherennan, Letterkenny), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Louis’ remains will be reposing at his late residence on Wednesday, November 16 from until 10pm and on Thursday November 17 from 2pm until 10pm with Rosary both evenings at 9pm. House private on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral from there on Friday, November 18 at 10.15am going to St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny.

Interment afterwards to Conwal Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to The Donegal Hospice c/o any family member.

Fidelma Gallagher, Stranorlar

The death has taken place of Fidelma Gallagher, Railway Rd., Stranorlar.

Predeceased by her much-loved parents Jack and Nora. She will be sadly missed by her devoted partner Tony, beloved sisters Sylvia, Yvonne, Terri, brothers Dennis, Andrew, Gerard and Paul. She will be deeply and sincerely missed by her loving partner, brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters-in-law, aunt Eileen, nieces, nephews, cousins and wide circle of friends.

Fidelma’s remains will be reposing at the family home Main Street, Stranorlar (EF93 D2H4) from 5pm Thursday to 10pm and on Friday from 12 midday to 10pm.

Family, friends and neighbour’s welcome. Family time at all other times and on the morning of the funeral. Mass of the Resurrection in the Church of Mary Immaculate at 11am on Saturday. Internment afterwards in Drumboe Cemetery, Stranorlar.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to a Charity of your choice, c/o any family member or Martin McGowan, McGowan’s Funeral Home, Drumboe Avenue, Stranorlar.

Brendan Kilpatrick, Laghey

The death has occurred of Brendan Kilpatrick, Án Lagan Gorm, Laghey. Peacefully in the Rock Nursing Unit, Ballyshannon in the loving care of the staff.

Brendan's remains will arrive at St. Brigid's Church, Ballintra on Thursday evening at 6pm to repose overnight. Funeral Mass on Friday morning at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Donations, if so desired, to the Rock Nursing Unit Ballyshannon Patients' Comfort Fund care of Martin Gallagher Funeral Directors, Laghey.

Always remembered and sadly missed by your brother Cathal and his wife Mary, nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends.

Margaret Tunney, Ballyshannon

The peaceful death has occurred of Margaret Tunney, Creevy, Ballyshannon at the Ballyshannon Community Nursing Unit.

Margaret was predeceased by her brother Michael and sisters Cassie, Mary Ellen and Anne. She was also a much-loved sister of Patricia and aunt of Patricia, Brendan, Marion, Anne, Gerard, Karen, Noreen and Gerard.

Reposing at McGee's Funeral Home, Belleek Road, Ballyshannon on Friday from 5pm to 7pm. Removal from the funeral home on Saturday at 10.30am to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am with interment in the Abbey Assaroe Cemetery.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if so desired to the Ballyshannon Community Nursing Unit c/o Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors, Ballyshannon.

Delia McGinley, Ballyshannon

The  death has occurred of Delia McGinley (née Healy), West Port, Ballyshannon, at Aras Mhic Suibhne, Mullinasole, Laghey.

Predeceased by her husband Jimmy and sadly missed by her son James and daughter Teresa, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and all extended family.

Reposing at John McGee & Sons Funeral Home, Belleek road, Ballyshannon with removal on Thursday morning going to St Joseph's Church, The Rock, Ballyshannon for 11am Funeral Mass with burial afterward in the adjoining cemetery.

John Wilhare, Carrigart

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of John Wilhare, Devlinreagh, Carrigart.

His remains are reposing at his late residence.

Funeral from there on Thursday, November 17, going to the Church of St John The Baptist, Carrigart for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

John was predeceased by his wife Eileen. Deeply regretted by his loving family Majella (Gortnabrade), Marie (Fanad), Josephine (Devlinmore), Rosaleen (Devlinreagh), Evelyn (Kilmacrennan), Sean (Kildare), his sister Julia (UK), grandchildren,daughter-in-law sons-in-law nieces nephews neighbours and friends.

House private please to family, neighbours and close friends.

John Carberry, Glenswilly

The death has occurred of John Carberry, Magheralask, Glenswilly (F92 VCN8). 

Predeceased by his son, Michael. Deeply regretted by his wife Brigid (née Sweeney), sister Tessie (Australia), sons Shaun, Frank, Charlie, Tony, Colm and Paul, daughters Mary Brogan (Eskea), Kate Haughey (Drumkeen) and Imelda Glackin (Edinburgh), daughters and sons in law, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.

Remains reposing at his son Tony's residence.

Funeral from there on Thursday, November 17 to St Columba's Church, Glenswilly for 11am Requiem Mass with interment to Kilpheak Cemetery.

James McCallion, Gleneely

The death has taken place at the Nazareth House, Fahan of James McCallion, Drumley, Gleneely.

Removal has taken place from Liam Collins's Funeral Premises, Culdaff to the home of his niece, Marion Diver, Kindroyhead, Gleneely.

Funeral from there on Thursday, November 17 at 10.30am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Bocan, Culdaff with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Family time on the morning of the funeral, please.

Kathleen Friel, Milford

The peaceful death has taken place at her home of Kathleen Friel, The Lagg, Milford.

Funeral Mass on Thursday, November 17, at 11am in St Peter’s Church, Milford.

Burial afterwards in Milford Cemetery.

An tAthair Cathal Ó Gallchóir, Gaoth Dobhair

The sudden death occurred of an tAthair Cathal Ó Gallchóir at his home in Tyler, Minnesota on Sunday, October 30.

He is survived by his seven brothers and his two sisters, and their families. Predeceased by his parents Johnny Sheáin, and Mary, his sisters Méabha and Máiréad, his nieces Sinéad and Fionnuala and his brother-in-law Pat Munnelly.

He will be greatly missed by his many friends in Ireland, Japan and the United States, especially his colleague and dear friend Fr Jim Callahan (Worthington, Minnesota). 

Fr Cathal’s remains will repose in the family home (F92 P2Y1) on Thursday, November 17, from 1pm to 8pm and on Friday from 11am to 8pm. Rosary will be at 8pm on both nights.

The funeral Mass will be in Teach Pobail Mhuire, Doirí Beaga on Saturday, November 19, at 11am with interment afterwards in Reilig Mhachaire Gathlán.

Bella Sanzone (née McGarvey), Gaoth Dobhair

The death has occurred in the USA of Bella Sanzone, Carrick, Gaoth Dobhair, originally from Corveen, Derrybeg.

Predeceased by her husband Tom; daughter Sandra (Gallagher); sisters, Máire (Coyle) and Méabha (Ripperger); brother, Joe (Coll) and granddaughter Lorraine (Gallagher). Sadly missed by her daughters, Jacqueline (Anderson), Rosella and Maria (Sanzone), son Eddie, brother Denis (McGarvey), sister Gracie (Rennix), in-laws, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Her remains will repose at Roarty's Funeral Home on Thursday from 3pm to 9pm, with Rosary at 9pm.

Funeral Mass in S. Mary's Church, Derrybeg on Friday, November 18 at 11am, with interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery.
