Works will continue across Donegal this week
Uisce Éireann is advising customers in Donegal that essential reservoir cleaning works are continuing this week.
This programme of works is part of Uisce Éireann’s ongoing efforts to safeguard the quality and reliability of the water supply for homes and businesses across the county.
While bypass systems are in place for most reservoirs to help minimise disruption, some customers may experience reduced water pressure, temporary discolouration, or intermittent supply during or after the works.
This week’s programme includes works at Dunkineely Reservoir on the Killybegs Water Supply today, Tuesday; and at Twintowers Reservoir on the Owenteskna Public Water Supply on Wednesday.
Works will take place on Thursday at Owenteskna Water Treatment Plant and Glenballadung Reservoir and on Friday crews will be carrying out reservoir cleaning at Ard an Rátha on Na Gleannta Public Water Supply. Crews will endeavour to restore supply to normal levels as quickly as possible once works are completed.
Uisce Éireann’s Damien O’Sullivan said: “These reservoir cleaning works are essential to safeguarding the quality and reliability of the water supply for communities across Donegal. Our crews work carefully throughout the process to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum, and we thank customers for their patience while this important maintenance continues.”
All works will be carried out between 8am and 6pm, and crews will endeavour to complete the essential cleaning works and maintain normal supply levels throughout.
