October 30th is a date for the diary, with a new Cancer Charity Dinner Dance offering a glittering night of dancing to the very popular Pat Gallagher and his band.
The evening begins with a champagne drinks reception at 7pm, followed by a four-course dinner. This event promises to be a highlight of the social calendar, and is set for the newly refurbished Waterfront Hotel in Dungloe.
The dance is being organised by the McShane and Glackin families of west Donegal, who are behind the annual Ribbon Tree charity fundraiser held at Christmas time.
This dance is the first of what the organisers hope will be an annual event to raise funds for cancer charities, a cause that sadly affects almost every household in the Rosses and Gweedore and farther.
Every ticket holder will be given the opportunity to nominate the cancer charity of their choice on the night and the successful charity to be drawn will receive all profits raised.
This is a ticket-only event, with tickets at €50 or a table of 10 for €450. Tickets can be purchased from XL Station (Spar) in Burtonport; SuperValu or Topshop in Dungloe; Clerkins Foodstore in Lettermacaward; or from organisers on 087 7028202 or 086 4038526.
