Late Retd Supt Michael 'Mick' Duffy who lived in Bundoran
There has been deep sadness expressed in Donegal and beyond following the death of Retd Supt Michael (Mick) Duffy.
Supt Duffy was the Garda Superintendent in Ballyshannon before taking up retirement a number of years ago. He lived in Bundoran's West End and was a native of Strokestown in Co Roscommon.
Apart from his work as a Garda, he was also a popular member of the local golf club and for many years was heavily involved in the local branch of St Vincent dePaul and Ozanam House.

One of his great loves was to get out into the country and go for a walk and he could often be seen with his dog walking around the Gleniff Horseshoe and other locations in the area.
Despite his busy work and responsibilities as a senior member of An Garda Siochana, he was both caring and compassionate in all his dealing both professionally and personally.
He had a quiet way about him, but was able to get the job done, whatever it was, without a fuss.
Mick, as he was fondly called, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
