Fintan Dewhirst, Arlene Crossan and Roisin Flanagan will compete in Slovenia
Fintan Dewhirst, Arlene Crossan and Roisin Flanagan have been selected on the Irish team for the European Athletics Team Championships Second Division.
The championships take place in Maribor, Slovenia on June 28-29.
Tir Chonaill AC’s Dewhirst is joined on the squad by Finn Valley AC pair Crossan and Flanagan.
Dewhirst and Crossan are both selected for the 400m hurdles events with Crossan also part of the mixed 4x400m relay team.
Flanagan is chosen to compete in the 5000m.
In 2022, Dewhirst was the European U18 400m hurdles silver medallist.
Earlier this year, Crossan made her senior Irish bow at the European Indoors, running in the women’s 4x400m final, while Flanagan is no stranger to big stages.

The other nations competing in the division are Denmark, Croatia, Slovenia, Israel, Belgium, Austria, Romania, Norway, Bulgaria, Estonia, Cyprus, Turkey, Latvia, Slovakia and Serbia.
