Seamus Coleman
Seamus Coleman has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Portugal and Armenia.
The Killybegs native hasn’t played for Ireland since their 2-0 defeat to England in the Nations League in September 2024, but his return to fitness for his club side has helped him be called up by manager Heimir Hallgrimsson.
The 36-year-old has started two games for Everton this season, most recently in the 2-0 defeat to Wolves in the Premier League.
Ireland currently sit bottom of Group F after two games, having drawn at home to Hungary before an away defeat to Armenia.

They face table toppers Portugal in Lisbon this Saturday, before welcoming Armenia to the Aviva Stadium on Tuesday, October 14.
Coleman has made 73 appearances for Ireland since his debut in 2011.
