Reservoir cleaning works are scheduled to take place in south and west Donegal.

The works will take place on reservoirs serving the Killybegs Public Water Supply on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week.

Uisce Éireann crews will be continuing the works at the reservoirs on Glenties (Na Gleannta) Public Water Supply on Thursday afternoon. On Friday,  maintenance works will be carried out on the Owenteskna Public Water Supply.

All works will be carried out between 8am and 6pm, aiming to complete the essential cleaning works and maintain normal supply levels throughout. These works are aimed at helping safeguard the quality and reliability of the local water supply.

Measures, including network adjustments and bypasses, have been put in place to avoid supply interruptions during these planned works. However, temporarily reduced water pressure or some discolouration may occur at times while works are underway, according to Uisce Éireann.

“These works are essential to safeguard the quality and reliability of our water supply,” Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann said. “While bypasses and network adjustments are in place to avoid major disruption, some customers may notice temporary changes such as reduced pressure or slight discolouration.

“Our crews work diligently to keep any impacts to a minimum, and we thank customers for their patience while this important work is completed.”
