Seventeen-year-old Muireann Bradley admitted she said 'Dustin who?' when she learned she was to meet Dustin the Turkey on Ray D’arcy show on RTE Radio One on Friday - but did say afterwards her father John was "a bit star-struck."

The talented Ballybofey singer and guitarist was a guest in studio and opened with When the Levee Breaks before closing out the show with Candyman.

When Dustin, who, remember was first a regular on RTÉ long before Muireann's time in 1989, made an appearance in studio, he offered the Abbey Vocational School student some advice.

"Cheat," he proclaimed to her ahead of her leaving certificate next year, before being put in his place when Darcy, who told Muireann to ignore him. However, Dustin proved himself to be a fan of her music by exclaiming "can we hear it again?" after the second song. You can listen to the show back here.

"I had so much fun yesterday playing a couple of tunes on the Ray D’arcy show on RTE Radio One," Muireann posted. "Thanks so much to Ray and all his team for having me on and for looking after us so well. I was so nervous after I did my first tune and was leaving the studio, my brain wasn’t working. Ray said 'you’re going to meet Dustin when you come back in' and I said 'Dustin who?; Dustin was lovely and a lot more handsome and much taller than you’d expect in real life. I think my dad was a bit star-struck meeting him!"
