Shane Callaghan on song as Naomh Columba down Cloughaneely 

Naomh Columba came away with the points in Páirc na nGall on Saturday evening.

Cloughaneely led 1-6 to 0-7 at half. Shane Callaghan hit two two-pointers, but the visitors responded with points from Shaun McGarvey.

Declan McGuire scored a point, but Cloughaneely led at the break with points from Connor Coyle and Donnachadh Ó Baoighill, before McGarvey got a goal before half-time as they led by four. 

But two late scores from McGuire and Callaghan left two in it heading into the break.

The second half was a slow burner, with the only score from Patrick Doohan in the first 12 minutes.

Then the introduction of Kevin McNern seemed to get the hosts going, as points came from a Callaghan free, Darragh Cunningham, and Callaghan again. 

But Cloughaneely replied with an Ó Baoighill point. Callaghan levelled in the 47th minute before an Eric Carr point put the home side in the lead.

With eight minutes remaining, from a Cloughaneely kick-out, Eric Carr won the ball and went through on goal, fisted it across goal where McNern won a foot race to palm to the net for a crucial three-pointer. 

Further points from Carr and Pauric Ward, and a point from Ciaran McGeady, were cancelled out by a Pauric Hegarty point from play and a fine Ó Baoighill score from play before the final whistle sounded.
