The Ulster pre-season competitions of the Dr McKenna Cup and the Conor McGurk Cup have both been confirmed as returning to the GAA calendar for the 2026 season.
The two competitions were done away with in 2025, as all pre-season tournaments were suspended for the year as part of a one-year trial, but will return next year, which will mark the 100th anniversary of the McKenna Cup.
The McKenna Cup holders at present are Derry, who defeated Donegal in the 2024 final by 0-16 to 0-12, while Donegal won the last edition of the McGurk Cup, beating Down by 2-25 to 0-22 to retain the title.
At a meeting of the Ulster Competition Controls Committee on Tuesday, county delegates voted unanimously to restore the two competitions.
