Four members of the minor winning championship panel of Four Masters have created another piece of history for the club by joining a small elite group of GAA players with four Donegal minor championship medals.

Four Masters defeated Glenswilly on Bank Holiday Monday in O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny by 6-10 to 0-9 to lift their fourth minor title in-a-row.

In doing so four players - goalkeeper Lewis McCaughan; defender Daniel McGinty and forwards Turlough Carr and Conor McCahill equalled a record set by two Aodh Ruadh players - All-Ireland winning midfielder Brian Murray and Conor Boyle.

Murray and Boyle were part of a four in-a-row minor winning championships teams from 1979 to 1982.

There was no Ulster club minor competition back in the early 1980 which means that the Four Masters quartet have something even more special to aim for. The Donegal Town club have played in the last three Ulster club minor finals, winning the last two, and can now aim for a three-in-a-row in Ulster as well.
