John Anderson scored a dramatic late goal for Naomh Brid’s at the weekend to secure a win over Letterkenny Gaels in the U-21 C championship.

With the clock well into the red and Naomh Brid trailing by two points at the Glebe, Anderson struck with a first-time volley to snatch a dramatic one-point win.

Dylan Doherty and Arron McGrory scored the other two goals for the Clint Walsh managed side.  

Doherty’s first half goal helped Naomh Brid to a 1-2 to 0-3 lead at the end of the opening 30 minutes of a low-scoring but closely contested encounter. 

Callum McGilloway with two frees and Michael Sweeney a point from play were the first half point scorers for Aidy Glackin’s maroon and white. 

Aaron McGory, Oisin Brogan,Tadgh McGarrigle, Donal Gallagher and Eoghan Gallagher scored the points for Naomh Brid.

Mark Patterson scored the two Letterkenny Gaels goals, both in the second half while Callum McGilloway added four more points to cap a good personal showing.

Letterkenny Gaels scorers: Mark Patterson 2-0, Callum McGilloway 0-6, Cathal Doherty, Michael Sweeney, Adam Duffy 0-1 each. 

Naomh Brid scores: Aaron McGrory 1-2, Dylan Doherty, John Anderson 1-0 each, Oisin Brogan 0-2, Tadgh McGarrigle, Donal Gallagher, Eoghan Gallagher 0-1 each.
