Anthony Harkin was the recipient of a Coaching Award at the Ulster GAA President's Awards on Friday night as Finnbarr Roarty won Footballer of the Year at Slieve Russell Hotel, Co Cavan.
The Ardara man was commended after dedicating decades of service into developing the next generation of coaches.
Harkin was the team trainer under Brian McEniff when Donegal captured their first Sam Maguire Cup back in 1992.
In 2024, he graduated in Sports Coach Development at a recent Sport Ireland Coaching ceremony in Croke Park.
There was also another award for Finnbarr Roarty on the night, as the Naomh Conaill man was named Footballer of the Year.
Roarty was a massive factor in Jim McGuinness’ side winning back-to-back Ulster titles in 2025 and making the All-Ireland final, before losing out to Kerry.

The Naomh Conaill star also won Young Footballer of the Year in 2025 and received one of four All-Star awards for Donegal.
Roarty has continued that form into 2026 and was named Footballer of the Week last week for his Man of the Match performance against Kerry in the second round of Division 1, as he hit three points in the four point win in Ballyshannon.
