Andy Moran in Letterkenny as his Mayo side lost out to Donegal
Andy Moran was in philosophical enough mood on Sunday as Donegal pulled the rug out from under his Mayo side in emphatic fashion.
Both sides were putting their previous one hundred per cent records on the line in Letterkenny but, in the end, Jim McGuinness’ team were worthy 1-19 to 0-14 win at O’Donnell Park.

“It won't be roses every day,” he said on that eight-point loss.
“I wish we could just erase the first 26 or 27 minutes but I'm very pleased with the second half, we lost that by two points against the wind and created four or five goal chances”.
By the break, the hosts were 0-11 to 0-5 clear but Mayo, to their credit, were improved on the resumption.
Moran though, says that previous slow start meant they could never get a real foothold in matters as Donegal, in the end, still coasted to victory.
“It took us 25 minutes to settle into the game,” Moran added. “But it’s a learning curve. And if you asked me would I be happy with two wins from three in the league, I’d have accepted that”.
“What we looked for in the second-half wasa bit of guts, a bit of fight. To be fair to them we dug in. Like I said there were some real goal chances.
“There were positives there. But, like I said, they were only there from 27 minutes on”.
