O’Donnell, on his home patch, was one of the winners’ most influential operators on the day but he erred on the side of caution when speaking to the media after.
“We’re very happy,” he said. “That’s three from three now so it’s very encouraging. The funny thing is, we have lots to work on as well and I think we seen that as well, in spells.
“Early on in the league, and I know it sounds like a line, but you really take it one game at a time as it’s a division that if you don’t start well, you get sucked into trouble really quickly.
“We’re ticking a few boxes as we go. We are getting lads back to full fitness as well as picking up points. The treatment table is well clear at this stage.
“We’re in a good place - going three from three, I mean”.
Andy Moran’s side had travelled to O’Donnell Park with their tails up having opened with two wins themselves.
But after a slow start at either end, Donegal clicked and trut be told there only looked like one winner from the 20-minute mark on.
“Yeah, I think if you can make a quick start confidence and momentum kicks on. I think that’s what happened today.
“It was a funny one as I don’t think we got on the board for the first ten minutes. It felt like a long time. But once we were off the mark, we kicked on.
“I think there were some exceptional; scores from the lads inside. Yong Conor McCahill was really impressive for a lad making his first league start.
“And Oisin Gallen, I think we all know the quality he possesses. Like I said, we were very happy at half-time but, at the end, we were well aware that there are learnings to take from the second-half.
“We’ll head off now and look at all of that. It’s a quick turnaround now once more to Armagh and they’ll be gunning for the points up there, on their own patch”.
