6 Donegal have some injury concerns across half-forward line

Donegal have some half-forward availability concerns ahead of their trip to Dr Hyde Park. Shane O’Donnell, Daire Ó Baoill, Ciaran Moore, Kieran Gallagher and long-term ACL victim Ciaran Thomspon are currently sidelined. The hope is the likes of O’Donnell, Moore and Gallagher come back into the reckoning at the weekend, but if Jim McGuinness decides to err on the side of caution, suddenly the Donegal bench looks a little lightweight and inexperienced, just like it did last time out in Ballyshannon in the drawn encounter with Galway. Youngsters Shea Malone and Conor McCahill, alongside a first appearance from Jamie Brennan this season, did well enough against the Tribesmen but it would be encouraging to see those options bulked ahead of the weekend. Still, with Donegal sitting pretty, McGuinness won’t be taking any chances so it will be interesting to see what XV he goes with this time out. Ó Baoill has had the protective cast removed from his hand but Roscommon will come too early for the Gaoth Dobhair man, who was in excellent early form until sustaining that injury against Kerry in Fr Tierney Park back in early February.
