Jonny Carlin played his part in Wicklow’s Leinster Championship win over Carlow at the weekend.
The Red Hugh’s clubman, who has transferred back down to Barndarrig in Wicklow, started for the Garden County as they were comfortable 2-15 to 1-7 winners in Netwatch Cullen Park in the first round of the championship.
Wicklow led by 0-8 to 0-4 at the break before pulling away in the second half with goals from Pádraig O’Toole and Oisin McGraynor, while goalkeeper Mark Jackson scored a trio of two-pointers as Wicklow set up a Leinster quarter-final with Dublin in Aughrim this Sunday.

Carlin previously lined out for Wicklow in 2024, having impressed in the Wicklow Intermediate Club Championship, scoring a penalty in injury time as Barndarrig won the title in a 1-8 to 2-4 win over Annacurra, also picking up the Man of the Match award.
But he transferred back closer to home last year and was involved in the Donegal senior panel in 2025 as they won the Ulster title and reached the All-Ireland final.
