Four Cian Doherty points helped Carndonagh to a narrow Division 3 win at Naomh Padraig

Ritchie Cunningham may be granted the freedom of Carndonagh following his late goal snatching a dramatic win for Carndonagh against Naomh Padraig in Ture on Sunday.

But the big midfielder was the toast of the town's GAA folk after his goal four minutes into time added on claimed a narrow one point win and two precious league points.

In a low scoring encounter the goal was rough justice on Jonny Toye and company after they seemed to have done enough, two points up, well past normal time.

But a two-point lead is a dangerous one and the locals got caught and it was Carndonagh that took home the league points and the bragging rights. Cian Doherty top scored for Carndonagh with four points while Toye and Cormac McColgan led the Naomh Padraig charge with two points each.

Naomh Padraig scorers: Jonny Toye 0-2, Cormac McColgan 0-2, Rory Hirrell Kevin Doherty, Rian Gallagher and Kevin Lynch, 0-1 each.
Carndonagh scorers: Cian Doherty 0-4, Richie Cunningham 1-0, Eoghan Kelly 0-2.
