Cian Doherty, who was part of the winning Carndonagh side in Dunkineely.
Carndonagh did enough in the first half to get a good result on the road against Naomh Ultan in Dunkineely on Saturday evening.
Naomh Ultan 1-11
Carndonagh 1-14
Carndonagh made the long journey a fruitful one, thanks to a commanding first half performance where they racked up a tally of 1-10 to 0-6 at the break, despite arriving in south Donegal without jersies. Naomh Ultan loaned them their second set.
Naomh Ultan were hit by an early injury to veteran midfielder Aidan Duddy and just didn't get going in the half.
However, it was a different story in the second half as they fought back, led magnificently once again by Cian Kennedy.
Carndonagh can thank their goalkeeper for two good saves and the post also saved the Inishowen men on two occasions.
But overall, the visitors had a bigger range of scoring with Cian Doherty outstanding while Naomh Ultan depended very heavily on Kennedy.
Naomh Ultan scorers: Cian Kennedy 1-7,3f; Luke Gallagher, Sean White (two marks) 0-2 each.
