The benefits of having Michael Murphy available for the All-County League was one of the standouts as Glenswilly won for the fourth time in Division 2 this season.
Naomh Bríd 2-6 Glenswilly 3-23
Murphy scored 2-8 in all, 1-4 in each half against Naomh Bríd, who were well-beaten but did manage to net a couple of goals through Pauric McDaid and Gearoid Gallagher. However, Glenswilly, who also saw Caoimhin Marley impress with 1-4 and Daithi Gildea and Emmett O’Boyle hit some fine scores.
Glenswilly, in their fourth outing, are still 100 percent and laid down their marker early in Trummon and were 15 points up at the break, 1-15 to 1-3. Murphy and Marley found the net, with Naomh Bríd’s McDaid grabbing a goal for the hosts.
Naomh Bríd had lost all five of their previous outings, having been promoted last season with Burt and did keep at it in the second half, with Gallagher netting. However, with Glenswilly pulling up they were comfortable winners with Murphy scoring their third goal ahead of their clash with Milford this coming weekend.
