Na Rossa easily overcome Urris in Junior A Championship

Na Rossa had too much firepower for Urris.

Na Rossa had a little too much fire power for Urris in this Junior A Championship clash on Saturday evening.  

Urris 1-8 Na Rossa 1-15 

Cillian Bonner was in fine form for the winners and he scored a goal and six points in the seven-point victory over the locals. 

Aidan McHugh with four points and 2012 All-Ireland winner Adrian Hanlon, three points, were the other big score-getters for Declan Bonner’s team.  

Former All-Star Adrian Sweeney, recently transferred from Dungloe, also got in on the scoring after being introduced in the second half. 

Gavin McDaid scored the Urris goal while Ryan Doherty, Alan Friel and Mark McLaughlin also registerd for the hosts. 

Na Rossa played with the wind and raced into an early 0-4 to 0-1 lead. But Urris hauled themselves back into the tie and they were just a point down when Bonner, on the stroke of half-time, fired in the Na Rossa goal to leave it 1-7 to 0-4 at half-time. 

A McDaid goal started the Urris challenge and the margin was back to three points shortly after at 1-8 to 1-5.

But Na Rossa kicked on again and outscored the locals by four points to two down the stretch to run out comfortable winners.
