In Pictures: Donegal's seven promotions to Division 1 over last 36 years

On Saturday last in Netwatch Cullen Park, Carlow, Donegal won promotion to Division 1 for the 7th time - the first coming under the guidance of Tom Conaghan in the 1987/88 season.

1987/88

Donegal 1-5,  Laois 0-3: Donegal and Laois were level 0-2 at half-time. Manus  Boyle edged Donegal ahead at the end of the third quarter while a goal from Charlie Mulgrew closed out the win in a game that was more noteworthy for the promotion than the performance. Donegal were promoted to Division 1 after playing in Division 3 and Division 2 throughout the 1980s.
