In a low-scoring encounter Gaeil Fhánada got their first win of the campaign, thanks to three late points at a windy Madavagh.

Na Rossa had the advantage of the wind in the opening half and finished the half well to take a 0-5 to 0-4 lead to the dressing rooms.

The visitors had started the better and led by 0-4 to 0-1 after 20 minutes but a burst of scoring from Na Rossa yielded four points in-a-row. The first half Na Rossa scores came from Cillian Bonner (two frees), Christian Bonner, Marc Bonner and Odhran Molloy.

Gaeil Fhánada levelled early in the second half but there was deadlock then until the 50th minute when Na Rossa edged ahead again through Adrian Hanlon.

But Sean Carr equalised for the Fanad side again on 51 minutes and substitute Mark McAteer put them ahead again on 54 minutes. The final point, a Darren McElwaine free, didn’t come until the 63rd minute.

Gaeil Fhánada have Letterkenny Gaels at home in their final game while Na Rossa travel to play Milford next weekend.
