Termon maintained their unbeaten run but had it far from all their own way against Red Hughs in Páirc Aodh Rua on Saturday evening.

The purist may not be happy, but few at the Burn Road will worry too much about the over-defensive nature of the tie.

Termon’s win means it is a fourth straight win for Caolan McDaid’s side and a place in the quarter-final as the number one team.

The one-point defeat also secured Red Hughs the last of the quarter-final places.

The final places also mean they will meet again in the quarter-final.

Red Hughs led 0-3 to 0-1 at the break but Termon kicked back with Emmet McCormick top scoring with only two points, while Daire McDaid, Pat Fagan, John James Sweeney, and Jack Alcorn added the other white flags to secure the win for the men from the Burn Road.
