Robert Emmets record first Junior A championship win in 11 years

Robert Emmets chalked up their first win in the championship with a comfortable victory over Naomh Colmcille in Pairc Colmcille in Newtowncunningham on Sunday afternoon. 

Dylan McNamee, Rory Dalton, Sean Maguire, Jordan Tourish, and Ryan McGirr scored the goals in what was also Robert Emmets' first Junior A championship win in 11 years.  

McNamee, Dalton, Reece Gallagher, and Owen Harren were also among the points scorers for the men from Emmet Park. 

Michael Friel scored the Naomh Colmcille goal and Eoin Flanagan posted three points, while former county man Ryan McErlean kicked two points in his first outing of the season.  

Unfortunately for both Robert Emmetts and Naomh Colmcille, it was the end of their championship road and football for the year until they return next season.  

Naomh Colmcille scorers: Michael Friel 1-1; Eoin Flanagan 0-3; Ryan McErlean 0-2; Paul Friel and Ciaran Kennedy 0-1 each. Robert Emmets scorers: Dylan McNamee 1-3; Rory Dalton 1-2; Sean Maguire, Jordan Tourish, and Ryan McGirr 1-0 each; Reece Gallagher and Owen Harren 0-2 each.
