Former Donegal star Mark McHugh
Lar Wall’s ticket to become the next Meath senior football manager is believed to have Donegal’s 2012 All-Ireland winner Mark McHugh’s name on it.
Wall was involved with Roscommon last season as senior coach under boss Davy Burke while McHugh was a selector with the Rossies the season prior.
And while their paths didn’t directly cross there, McHugh left a positive enough mark on the Roscommon set-up that Wall has obviously picked up on.
DonegalLive understands that Wall’s proposed management team to succeed Colm O’Rouke at the Royal helm also includes former Meath All-Ireland winning minor boss Cathal Ó Bric.
The race to become the next Meath boss appears to be a straight shoot-out between current Kilmacud Crokes manager Robbie Brennan and Wall.
McHugh – who helped out at Galway outfit Moycullen this season – is busy looking forward to a SFC quarter-final clash with St Michael's this weekend.
