Termon cruise past Naomh Conaill and into another LGFA SFC decider 

Reigning Donegal ladies SFC title holders Termon showed all their guile and class as they outgunned Naomh Conaill to qualify for another county decider. 

The three-in-a-row chasing hosts - backed by so much experience - led by 4-4 to 1-2 at the changeover on the Burn Road thanks to a hattrick of maximums from Ciara McGarvey while Geraldine McLaughlin cheekily lobbed in the other. 

Naomh Conaill’s green flag in that first half hour was raised by their most potent outlet on the day, Danielle McDevitt. 

However, with McGarvey netting her fourth seconds after the restart, the hosts eased through the gears in the second-half to run out comfortable 16-point winners. 

The visitors, to their credit, continued to battle and there is no doubt this young Glenties team will continue to improve at this level. But in the here and now Termon appear to remain very much out of reach of everyone else. 

Their opening period points were supplied by the likes of McLaughlin (three) while centre half-back Shannon McLaughlin also hit the mark. McGarvey’s trio of first-half goals also included a penalty. 

Another who impressed for the winners in this facile victory was Jodie McFadden and she netted the other goal to take her personal haul on the day to 1-3. 

Near the end, Naomh Conaill grabbed a consolation three-pointer as Cora Doherty bundled home from close range. 

Termon will now face Moville in the decider after they downed St Eunan’s 1-9 to 0-7 in the day’s other semi-final..
