Tanya Kennedy, far left, in the Sydney Swans huddle prior to kick off
Despite missing Donegal captain Niamh McLaughlin, the Gold Coast still managed to secure their first AFWL victory of the season on a scoreline of 50-46.
Moville’s McLaughlin was serving a one-match suspension picked up in last week’s loss to Brisbane.
A late Jacqueline Dupuy goal has launched Gold Coast to a four-point win over Sydney who had another Donegal star Tanya Kennedy in their half-back line.
Indeed, Kennedy led the swans out on the field with her niece and nephew over from Castlefin for the contest.
Dupuy slotted the match-winner with a minute left on the clock to clinch the 7.8 (50) to 6.10 (46) result at Henson Park on Saturday.

It is Gold Coast's first maximum of the season after seven losses and a draw, and lifts them off the bottom of the ladder, at least temporarily.
