Kennedy's Sydney Swans have too much for McLaughlin's Gold Coast Suns

The Gold Coast Suns even without the suspended Niamh McLaughlin still had a little too much for Kennedy’s Sydney Swans as they picked up their first AFLW win of the season

Despite missing Donegal captain Niamh McLaughlin, the Gold Coast still managed to secure their first AFWL victory of the season on a scoreline of 50-46.

Moville’s McLaughlin was serving a one-match suspension picked up in last week’s loss to Brisbane.

A late Jacqueline Dupuy goal has launched Gold Coast to a four-point win over Sydney who had another Donegal star Tanya Kennedy in their half-back line.

Indeed, Kennedy led the swans out on the field with her niece and nephew over from Castlefin for the contest.

Dupuy slotted the match-winner with a minute left on the clock to clinch the 7.8 (50) to 6.10 (46) result at Henson Park on Saturday.
