Termon's GAA pitch at the Burn Road
Termon GAA has achieved another milestone in its mission to enhance its facilities, providing greater opportunities for the local community in northwest Donegal.
The club has secured an additional €500,000 in funding through the Immigrant Investor Programme, managed by the Department of Justice, to support its initiatives in promoting Gaelic games, culture, and lifelong participation for people of all ages.
This latest investment comes courtesy of Dr Paul Boskind, a distinguished American psychologist, healthcare entrepreneur, Broadway producer, and philanthropist. The club has expressed deep gratitude for Dr Boskind's generosity.
The connection was facilitated by Gibson & Associates LLP, a legal firm with offices in Letterkenny and Dublin, which had previously introduced Nicole Shanahan as an investor in the project.
Daireann Gibson, Managing Partner at Gibson & Associates LLP, highlighted the shared values between Dr Boskind and Termon GAA, such as a commitment to cultural preservation, youth development, teamwork, and volunteerism.
He emphasised that this funding will make a significant impact, enabling the club to further its efforts in youth and community development across the region.
Termon GAA is nearing completion of an ambitious project to deliver a state-of-the-art training facility and community hub, which is set to open in the coming months.
In addition to the support from Dr Boskind and Ms Shanahan, the club has acknowledged the invaluable contributions of its members, volunteers, and public funding over recent years.
Daireann Gibson remarked: “It really is a good news story and shows what can be done when you have community investment as well as public and private investment all working together to do the right thing.”
