ATU Donegal manager Maxi Curran
ATU Donegal now know their opponents for the opening round of the 2025 Sigerson Cup following the draw which took place on Wednesday in Croke Park.
Managed by Maxi Curran, the Donegal side are set for a rematch against MTU Cork, a team they faced in last season's Round 2B clash.
This first-round fixture is scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, at the neutral venue of Abbottstown.
A victory for ATU Donegal would see them progress to Round 2A, where they will meet the winners of the TUS Midlands versus Maynooth clash, taking place a day earlier. Conversely, a loss would pit them against the losing side from that game in Round 2B.
In their previous encounter at Abbottstown earlier this year, the teams were inseparable after normal time, finishing level at 1-13 to 0-16. However, MTU Cork dominated the extra period, ultimately securing a decisive 3-20 to 1-14 win.
